Morning departure heading south via the motorway network. We take suitable stops en route for coffee and a lunch time break in Stratford-upon-Avon before travelling on to the Blunsdon House Hotel in time for dinner.

Enjoy a full English breakfast before we visit the village of Bampton, where the outdoor views of the church and hospital in Downton Abbey are recorded. We then make our way to Highclere Castle, home to the Earls of Carnarvon since 1679, to enjoy the stunning grounds, landscape and castle which are used as the location for Downton Abbey. You can also visit the Egyptian exhibition (included) as it was the 5th Earl of Carnarvon who famously discovered the Tomb of the Egyptian Boy Pharaoh, Tutankhamen in 1922 with his architectural colleague Howard Carter. Dinner is included again at Blunsdon House Hotel and the rest of the time is free for you to relax.

After breakfast we leave the Blunsdon House Hotel and journey northward, again with stops en route, at some of the Cotswold’s villages arriving home at tea time.
