27th to 30th January 2017 – 4 days

Friday 27th – Monday 30th January 2017

One of Scotland’s most celebrated evenings of the year.

This long standing tradition was started a few years after Robert Burns death by a number of his friends and acquaintances in order to honour his memory. Now, many years later the Burns night suppers are celebrated world wide on the date of his birth – 25th January.

Sample the iconic haggis and savour a dram or two of the finest malts or blended Whisky, and relax in the beautiful Angus Hotel.

Haggis on Burns Night

A morning departure heading north with comfort stops en route before continuing to the Salutation Hotel Perth. We have three nights here, including dinner, bed and Scottish buffet breakfasts with entertainment each evening.

After a full Scottish breakfast you have free time today to explore Perth. Perth is a mecca for discerning shoppers and with the hotels city centre location the shops are virtually on the door step. You can then return to the hotel at your leisure in time for dinner and this evenings celebrations. You will join the rest of the guests for a wee dram before a delicious Taste of Scotland Dinner when the piper will lead in and perform the “Address the Haggis”. You can then enjoy a night of Scottish music performed by a live singer.

Today we have a beautiful drive along the shores of Loch Tay where you will see the dramatic and rugged countryside from the warmth of your coach seat. We will be back in time for you to relax and change before this evenings carvery dinner and entertainment.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we set off for home, stopping en route at Gretna Green. We arrive back home early evening.

Reputed to be one of the oldest hotels in Scotland the Salutation has been welcoming guests since 1699. You will receive a warm welcome offering traditional hospitality with warm modern comforts.

The hotel has 84 bedrooms all with ensuite facilities, TV, refreshments tray and direct dial telephones.
