ITINERARY

Sunday
You will be collected by taxi from your home and taken to your nearest local joining point. When we are all on board we will travel with suitable comfort stops en route to our hotel.

Excursions Monday to Friday include:
A day in the Georgian town of Poole now a leading yacht harbour, which in the 18th century had more ships trading with North America than any other English port. Then onto Dorset’s largest resort Bournemouth, with miles of sandy beaches and beautifully kept gardens.

A half day excursion sees us visit the Isle of Purbeck, the pretty Victorian seaside town of Swanage, with its lovely pier and traditional seaside atmosphere.

Today we explore the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, the only place on Earth where 185 million years of the Earths history are sequentially exposed in dramatic cliffs, secluded coves, costal slacks and barrier beaches. We follow the coast passing some of Dorset’s pretty thatched villages to West Bay our first stop with a stunning beach and pretty harbour. We then continue to spend the afternoon in the delightful regency resort of Sidmouth.

We travel to Dorchester, a town founded by the Romans and with close association with Thomas Hardy, famous for his novels in which he described the surrounding areas. Arriving back at our hotel late afternoon.

A day of leisure in which time can be spent exploring Weymouth. One of Britain’s oldest seaside resorts, with it’s impressive Georgian seafront made popular by George III, who’s
statue stands on the promenade, and it’s bustling harbour full of fishing boats. The views across the bay are spectacular taking in the Jurassic coastline.

Saturday
After a full English breakfast sadly we make our way back to the North West making suitable stops en route, to be met by our taxis and transferred home.
