Northumbrian Adventure - Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Our door to door service brings you to meet the coach for a morning departure making our way to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, en route we have a lunch stop (lunch not included) arriving at the Gosforth Park Hotel in time for dinner. So relax, unwind and enjoy the start of your holiday.

 Excursions will Include:

  • After a delicious breakfast we travel into Newcastle-upon-Tyne where you have the day to explore this fabulous city at your leisure. To find your way around you could hop on and off the ‘Toon Tour Sightseeing Bus’ which takes you to many of the cities sights or you could take a river cruise. If you want to shop there’s plenty of choice, but don’t miss the spectacular architecture of the Central Arcade with its glass barrel-vaulted roof. We return in time for dinner at the hotel this evening.
  • This morning after breakfast we board the coach and head to Alnwick Castle. The first two Harry Potter films were shot here, as well as a Downton Abbey Christmas episode. Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England; it has been home to the Duke of Northumberland’s family, the Percys, for over 700 years and contains opulent state rooms, exhibitions and an extensive art collection. We return back to the hotel with some free time to relax before dinner.
  • After breakfast we head to Beamish Open Air Museum where you can step back in time to the early 1900s and visit the Town, Colliery Village, Working Farm and Victorian Railway. Go back further into the 1800s and visit Pockerly Manor and Gardens. Visit all the old shops, the confectionary maker and dentist or take an old tram round the park. We arrive back at the hotel in time for dinner.

Sadly after our last breakfast we leave the Gosforth Park Hotel for the journey home, with comfort stops en route arriving home in Lancashire where our door to door service will take you home.
