ITINERARY

Friday

After your door to door collection we make our journey South with comfort stops and lunch stop en route, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.

Saturday

After breakfast we start our day on the Epping Ongar Railway; we travel through picturesque countryside on a steam-hauled train to the town of Ongar, where we disembark and visit Greensted Church, the oldest wooden church in the world. We then return to North Weald station where we have time for a visit to the North Weald Airfield Museum which houses a collection of heritage and memorabilia, telling the story of the adjacent North Weald Airfield and its wartime significance. You can then choose to jump on a steam or diesel train for an atmospheric trip through parts of the beautiful Epping Forest, after which we return to the hotel for our evening meal.

Sunday

After our breakfast we begin this morning with a bang! By paying a visit to the Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey. Here we can explore the fascinating history of gunpowder, explosives and rocket propellants and we have a Land Train Guided Tour included.  In the afternoon we travel to Barleylands Farm Park, where we can meet some new farmyard friends! We enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Tiptree Tea Rooms & Pantry, located on-site at Barleylands. There is lots to do here; there’s daily animal activities including lamb bottle feeding, snake talks in the Reptile House and a meet and greet with the centre’s awesome birds of prey. There is also a Craft Village with arts and crafts, boutiques and gift outlets. We return to Cheshunt in time for dinner.

Monday

Today after breakfast we make our way to Cambridge where you have free time to explore the many sights Cambridge has to offer. We return to the hotel in time for dinner.

Tuesday

After breakfast we start our journey north with a lunch stop (lunch not included) and free time at the National Memorial Arboretum based in Burton-on-Trent. On arrival back in Lancashire the door to door service will take you back to your door.
