Our Drivers 30/09/2020

Our drivers are the real stars of our company. Each driver goes through an eight stage process so we only employ the very best level of staff. We advertise our jobs and define the role, tasks and skills needed for a Tyrers driver to carry out their day to day duties.

All our staff have an enhanced DBS certificate and are asked to sign a declaration form stating there are no reasons why they cannot work with children or vulnerable adults. Photo ID is asked for to verify applicant's identity.

All our staff have an interview with one of our managers. They outline the company's core values which include going the extra mile for our customers, personal honesty and integrity, reliability, cleanliness and high levels of customer service.  

All potential drivers are taken on a 30 minute drive in a coach to check to quality of their driving. They are checked on speed, safety, spacial awareness and how they treat the vehicle. 

If the candidate has been successful up to this stage we ask them for employment and charachter references. This enables us to form a final picture of what the driver is really like.

We continually inspect our staff on their behaviour and levels of customer service. Once a month we perform random alcohol tests on drivers to ensure they are not driving under the influence of alcohol. We also have a 90 day review to check all areas of employment, for example appearance, punctuality, attitude etc. We do this to regulate our drivers and ensure the health and safety of all passengers. 

Our team have a very family friendly attitude and are very supportive towards each other. They are very knowledgeable about the bus driving industry and are a credit to the name of Team Tyrers.
